- Nathan Sommers Jacobs is pleased to announce the addition of two new associates, Sarah Heep and Jason Antrican. Each is an alumnus of the firm's summer clerkship program. Sarah is a graduate of Texas Tech School of Law. She works with the firm's banking section. Jason earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He joins the firm's litigation section.

- The 2011 Nathan Sommers Jacobs Summer Program commenced. Four law students are working with the firm as summer clerks: Cia Bearden and Jonathan Heins, University of Houston Law Center; Erin Finger, South Texas College of Law; and Mark Wang, University of Pennsylvania Law School.
- George and Nicole Gibson co-chaired the Anti-Defamation League's 2011 Walter Kase Teacher Excellence Award luncheon on May 5, 2011. The event was attended by almost 500 people and honored the work of three middle school educators who have fostered safe learning environments in their schools by actively promoting respect and tolerance and working to eliminate bullying.

- Nathan Sommers Jacobs received the Extra Mile Award from the Anti-Defamation League for its participation in the Southwest Region's Community of Respect® Initiative. The award recognizes "the best of the best Community of Respect® partners for their extraordinary efforts and outreach while building a Community of Respect®." The firm was one of only four partners to win the award in 2010.
